Just hanging out with my little brothers.

Today I was asked to hang out with Chase and Connor for a couple hours while my dad ran a couple of errands. We were up in American Fork, so we didn't want to come all the way down to Provo just to turn back around. We ended up spending two hours messing around at Target. We spent a lot of time going down all of the toy isles. Connor stopped at almost every toy to show either me or Scott, then he would put it back on the shelf.
Then Connor found a back pack, once he put it on, he didn't take it off the entire time. It was easy to get him to put down the toys, but I don't think we could have left the store without the back pack. He thought he looked pretty cool with the back pack, and he insisted on putting everytihng we were going to buy in it.
We then ventured over to the hats and sunglasses area. The boys had a fun time trying on hats and giving me hats to try on.
I turned around for one second and chase taps me on the back and says, "Ummm.... Amber. My tooth just fell out." Luckily Scott was with me and he took chase and got him a paper towel to stop the bleeding. Before the Tooth Came out...
And After...
The boys were starting to get tired of wandering around Target so we stopped in the book section and read a couple books.
It is a hard task to keep kids under control and entertained in one store for 2 hours. But I did it, and it was actually kind of fun.

I forget how easily I get frustrated.

I finally have the basement in livable conditions. I have a living room area, and I don't have a couch yet, so I figured why not pull out an old folding table and work a little on that quilt I started months ago. I forget how easily I get frustrated when I quilt. I make too many mistakes, and unpicking all of the stitches is a pain. I give up for now. I am don't want to unpick the stitches. But so far the quilt is looking pretty good. Check it out.
It is really bright and I am kinda proud of it. I never have really quilted a lot. I did a little bit when I lived with Matt and Lauren. So I have had to pretty much teach myself, Lauren did teach me a little about how to quilt. I can't wait to see what the finish product will look like. :)

Pay Day...

Today was pay day, so I decided to get a couple more things for my room. I wasn't sleeping very well so as a new year resolution I decided I wasn't going to use my computer while I was in bed. So for the last little bit I have sat on my floor while using my computer. It wasn't the most comfortable situation. So I bought a desk... YAY. It love it.
I also bought myself a night stand. I didn't have anywhere to put my alarm clock and so I figured might as well get a nightstand while I am at it. It looks pretty good.
I then decided I should hang up my painting. My room is finally looking like I am decorating it. It isn't so plain anymore. I don't think I have ever had my room actually decorated. So here is my painting actually up on my wall.

The living room is next. I am almost done painting it. I also am almost done dejunking the basement from when Jason lived down here. It will be a couple more pay checks before any real improvement is made, but I can't wait to get started.

Enough about my room... Last night I went to the Jeff Dunham show up in Salt Lake. It was really fun. I still can't believe how well he can do all the different voices without moving his lips. Here are some pictures!

Peanut, I couldn't really get a very good picture, he moves this puppet a lot.

Achmed the dead terrorist.

Bubba

and Walter... It really was a good show, and the opener was really good too.

My Very First Acrylic...

I'm not exactly pleased with it... but I think it looks okay for my first painting. Here are some pictures of the painting I did. I can't figure out how to make it go the other way, and it is pretty late, so I am not going to worry about it.

My Bed.

I don't have a lot of time before I have to leave, but I thought I would post a picture of the bed that I am so proud of...

The last couple days

Yesterday my new bedframe was finally delivered. I haven't ever had a bed frame. It looks really good. My room is really small, a little too small but I don't care it is the first piece of real furniture that I have actually owned. Last night was the first night that I got to sleep in my room downstairs. I can't wait to finish cleaning up the rest of the basement. I will make sure to post pictures with the progress. I wish I had taken before pictures so I could take after pictures as proof of improvement.
I have spent this whole weekend with my little brothers, Chase and Connor. They are quite the handful. It is exhausting running after kids all day, I don't know how mothers do it. I certainly don't think that I could handle it for longer than 3 days. People always say that when it is your own kids then it is different. I now have much more respect for all mothers.

My favorite conversation

I bet you could guess, it isn't the birds and the bees talk... Its the DTR. The most awkward, and the hardest conversation to get through. If you are having the DTR that means that at least one the people's feelings are involved. When feelings are involved everything gets messy. You don't want to hurt the other person, so you aren't going to be blunt. Plus you really have enjoyed hanging out. So... then what's next? Ummm... I just told you I have hanging out with you... isn't hanging out enough? I'm such a heart breaker, but I don't mean to be.The joys of going to BYU.
Then the second worse conversation of the night goes to the one where your Best Friend chooses her boyfriend over you... Another joy of BYU. I guess marriage always come first around here.

Cake decorating... is not my thing

Me and Allison promised my friend a couple weeks ago that we would make him a cake for his birthday. Yesterday happened to be his birthday. I had to work until 6, so I got a late start. I wanted to decorate it all cool, so I pulled out my a couplet little idea booklet things that my mom has with the icing tips. I decided I was going to make him a circus cake. Here are some pictures. It was really fun but it didn't turn out too well.

This is the view of the top... all of the little skwiggley orange lines are supposed to have an m&m on top and look like balloons but I forgot to buy m&ms.
This is the sid of the cake... not as fun as the top, but it is still kinda cute.
The lesson that I learned from this experience is that I really don't think I was made to make cakes. It was fun, but I am not very good at it. Plus, squeezing that tube of icing for so long hurts my hand.

Sunday Dinner

Bryce, Jason, and Jocelynn were all over for dinner tonight. We we almost done eating and we were just talking when Bryce got in a really weird mood. I think that he was acting out different parts of movies, because he did the same thing over and over again, then he would just laugh. The first thing he did to get us all laughing was he stuck his fork in his mouth, then he started pounding his chest with his fist. He then coughs and spits out his fork... it doesn't sound very funny but it was hilarious at the time (We got him to do it a second time on camera here's the link). Then later he got a mouth full of water, we could tell by the look on his face that something was going on in his head. Then he looked and my mom with a smile on his face, we all started yelling "no" "don't" "Bryce" He loved the attention, he turned his head just in time to spit the water all over the floor instead of all over my mom. Overall it was a very entertaining dinner.

Posting everyday isn't a very easy task

I don't have kids... and I don't have money to do anything crazy... so my life seems pretty boring right now. I have been trying to think of something that happened today that is blog worthy, but nothing really happened today. I spent the day answering phones at the spa, and then I took a quick trip to IKEA. Maybe tomorrow I will get some more finished in the basement, or maybe start my painting. That way I actually have something to share when it comes to the end of the day.

Dejunking...

I have been going through all of the stuff in my room trying to figure out what I want to keep. I have so much stuff. Alot of it is stuff that I have had since I was 12. But for some reason I don't want to get rid of some of it. I am having a hard time getting rid of things, I know that I won't use most of it, but there is a small voice in the back of my head telling me that I am going to need all these things that I haven't touched in the last 8 years. I don't get why this is so hard.

Technology is taking over our lives...

Okay, so I just found out that a bunch of my relatives have blogs... Appherantly there is some pact they all have to go against the Harward ways and keep up with something so extreme. I'm in, I probably don't have as much to say as those who have lives, but I will give it a try. We don't have enough time to keep in touch with everyone so we use technology to post updates on our lives. Not a bad idea, I can check out what everyone else is up to without the hassle of talking to them. Some of my relatives are talkers, which is fine when I have the time, but most of the time when I think about them I don't have enough time to talk to them. Then on the other hand some of my relatives don't answer their phone, or return calls so I get completely cut off from them. But now, since I know they have a blog I can check it to see what is new. Technology is such a fantastic thing.
Okay, so we are redoing the office that I work at, it has taken months to get everything planned out and schedule things to come in. It is finally happening, and I couldn't be happier about it. Tomorrow, instead of working at a computer all day I will be in a training... not really sure how much fun it is going to be, but Lindsey said she was planning a few games. My days really aren't very interesting, not a whole lot happening, considering the only thing that I do is work, and... yep that pretty much covers my life.
Right now I am getting stuff to decorate the basement at my mom's. I am going to put a couch and a TV down there, put up some pictures, make it look nice. I have already almost finished painting the whole thing. Also I am going to be starting the painting that I am putting in my room soon. I did a couple quick versions of it, I haven't painted for a long time and figured a little practice wouldn't hurt. I am so excited to get started. I will have to keep you updated on that.

When the economy strikes the company you work for...

It isn't very fun to be at work. First one person gets let go, you don't think much of it. That person wasn't very good at their job anyway. Then the second person gets fired and you think, those two were dating, I guess they just weren't working as well as they used to before they started dating. Then someone else is gone, and it seems like no times past between the first person and the third. But time did pass. A week past and 3 people are gone. That probably is the last of it considering the fact that the management keeps saything that the department is going to be shorthanded. Then you go into work one day and somebody else has been let go. People are dropping like flies. Then you realize that you aren't the only person who has noticed that people keep leaving. People are starting to get nervous, wondering if they are going to be next person to go. Then you realize that your supervisors and the management are being all secretive. They are avoiding talking to people and they keep their doors shut. Something is going on. Then you over hear someone say that the company doesn't have enough money for the incentives... Crap, that is your job to deal with all of the incentives. You never directly gave them a reason to fire you, but why would they keep someone who manages something that they don't have anymore. Maybe I am at the top of the list for who is going next. I need my job dang it!
